About the valley and Herron Park

Welcome to Kalispell, Montana, one of the fastest growing outdoor recreation destinations in the West. With Glacier National Park and the vast Bob Marshall Wilderness within less than an hour's drive from the heart of Kalispell, residents and visitors alike enjoy access to some of the the wildest lands under the Big Sky right out their backdoor. 

Herron Park, located just 10 minutes from downtown Kalispell serves as the town's "front door" to outdoor recreation. Herron Park boasts almost 20 miles of multi-use, non motorized trails that are enjoyed by hikers, mountain bikers, horseback riders, trail runners, and skiers of all ages. With the completion of the Foy's to Blacktail trail in 2017, the Herron Park trail system is now connected by a single track, multi-use trail an additional 18 miles to the south to Blacktail Mountain Ski Area. Blacktail Mountain, serves as the backdrop and ski hub for the community of Lakeside, aptly named for its beautiful location on the shores of Flathead Lake.
